True but also something that should have been tested for and known before it was upright and fuelled again. I.e. why didn’t safety checks catch the issue(s)?

It opened fine for me so I don’t think there’s a paywall.
The problem is that you can never be certain about someone’s ability to stand their morals atop money until it is truly offered to them. Supposedly Gaben has turned down Billion dollar offers for steam. It is certainly not every person who will do so and it is hard to know how a person will react until that is truly offered to them. I don’t know that I’d turn it down (though I also don’t know how much Gaben makes).
He doesn’t allow those notes on his own posts.
So long as it isn’t their own, yeah, probably.
Knowing apple fans, it will work.
Might just be internet/human behavior really.
Because humans have more accountability. Also it has implications for military/police use of self-guided stuff.
Because a bunch of government and business uses 10 and they really don’t want “Recall AI” in there for a plethora of reasons.
Hey man some people are into that, no need to kink shame.
Politics were and have always been personal.
Louis CK has also sexually harassed a number of women( jerking off in front of unwilling viewers)…
Unfortunately, not super relevant. The earth->Venus scenario is about a positive feedback loop. So stopping our emissions after that tipping point doesn’t help.
The real worst-case that you don’t hear in media is turning Earth into a situation similar to Venus. At that point there’s a real small chance of even extremophiles much less anything complex. Of course the planet will still rotate and continue orbiting the sun but earth-based life would probably only exist in some of our space junk like the poop bags Apollo left on the moon.
Yes, but lower order animals. There are creatures with more or less intelligence and therefore more or less capacity of suffering.
Euthanasia is fine for an end point but as an implanted device is lifelong such a short time with the implant before sacrifice is not as useful as longer timepoints.
You can in fact test many of these devices in mice and even zebrafish.
You repeat testing in animals (with modifications) til it is actually safe or you at least understand what the risk is and how to mitigate it to tell the people who are going to trial it.
EU and maybe gdpr and other similar regulation matter. The US hasn’t updated our regulations on the tech sector, we’re like 30y behind.
Federal income tax currently maxes at 37%
Now that is a thought. Instead of AI doing a skynet/terminator thing it gets to the point we trust it and then tells us to eat or do things that kill us.
A heck of a lot of people are also trapped by work, family, and just not having time to keep up with all the changes.
