Yes and it should be worse. OpenAI should be forced to take on the cost of compensating every copyright holder it exploited. If that means OpenAI doesn’t exist I’m absolutely okay with that.

“lobbing”
is this a trusted outlet? at least we can be pretty sure a human wrote it ha ha ha
more than half of visitors leave a page if they’re forced to wait longer than 3 seconds
and it’s not outlandish to suggest that length decreases every year.
Agree to all, but just to add clarity, there is existing Mandarin LGBT content that was posted prior to the US influx. If there is moderation of queer voices going on, it’s a a similar level to what we are already familiar with from Meta and TikTok, not significantly more.
I sacrificed my soul to go over and check it out, immediately followed a bunch of LGBT creators of both US and Chinese locale. Nothing I followed or liked seems to have been removed yet, so just giving my two honest cents on that. The stuff that gets removed appears to be mainly Chinese politics and that’s it.
Is it the perfect protest solution? Naw.
Is it better than Musk and Zuckerberg getting a shit ton of free revenue from their corruption? Yea.
Is it funny as fuck? YUPP LMAO
i agree (and this comment here)
me, here take your own hehe
i see this a lot but this is a misconception. “threadiverse” originally was a term to describe the “threaded fediverse” i.e. Reddit-like platforms like Lemmy and kbin. Bluesky and Threads are not threadiverse because they operate on the microblog model not the threaded link aggregation model. this usage has nothing to do with the then non-fediverse related Meta project “Threads” and can be seen predating it.

and then read the comment you are trashing on. :) sounds like we agree and you got violent and rude
The default behavior of any social media platform is to allow people to say anything they want.
False, moderation has existed since literally the beginning.
author of that comment here, hi. wasn’t joking. you didn’t even read it right: *word’s
the wikipedia article on it cites two instances where it didn’t seem to be wayy back at the word’s inception. but yeah hardly matters in the grand scheme
giving you the benefit of the doubt like maybe english isn’t your first language, that word is considered a pejorative/slur in all modern usage
id say a good 80% of those downvotes are misunderstanding. something about the wording? idk. i thought they were talking about progressive folks getting outraged at first, not meta employees specifically. almost downvoted but caught my misunderstanding in time
i was with you at first but upon rethinking i do think it’s fair to note that there was little to no internal uproar in meta over the myanmar and othe situations. of course there was uproar outside meta. when they said “weird priorities” they meant from meta employees specifically—not progressive or leftist voices in general.
hope me describing my train of thoughts helps :)
To add, plenty of innocent people give false confessions of guilt. It’s a known pattern in human behavior especially under stress and duress.
I have no information to say whether this case is an example of that one way or the other, but just putting that out there.
