https://github.com/Mastermindzh/tidal-hifi does almost everything well. Unfortunately it cannot stream to other devices via Tidal Connect.
Awesome! I’ve been enjoying Tidal for a few months now, and now that it’s starting to learn what I like, I’m starting to like its recommendations as well.
Here’s hoping they keep staying on the relatively good side.
Telecoms are improving connections in areas with more demand before upgrading all connections in areas with less demand, news at eleven.
Somehow Ethereum 2 exists with Proof of Stake and everybody is still using Bitcoin. That tells me that nobody important (for this context) cares about wasted electricity.
How many of these apply to ungoogled-chromium?
Yeah, it’s way too difficult for parents to handle this. Where I live perhaps roughly 10% of parents even think of this as a problem.
We allow children to buy and use these devices but it’s the companies who are at fault.
Like, hey, how about doing your job and making some new legislation?
I want the tool to just do its fucking job. And if I specifically ask for a thing, just give me that. I don’t mind it injecting a bit of diversity in say, a crowd scene - but it’s also doing it in places where it’s simply not appropriate and not what I asked for.
The thing is, if it’s injecting diversity into a place where there shouldn’t have been diversity, this can usually be fixed by specifying better in the next prompt. Not by writing ragebait articles about it.
But yeah, I’d also be happy to be able to use an unhinged LLM once in a while.
Yes, absolutely. As far as I can tell, Privacy Sandbox could help with that.
Seems like a quick hop to chrome://flags allows one to disable this. chrome://flags/#privacy-sandbox-ads-apis
Ads aren’t evil though. They are the main method of making people know about new things. Intrusive and privacy-defeating tracking is.
Sure. Then again, if the goal of getting your kid a phone is so that they won’t be ostracized, I’m not sure if a dumbphone will help with that.
Kids in some parts of USA were shunned at some point because the messages they send get the wrong colored bubble. I.e. those losers are using Android phones instead of Apples.
Things like this make me think that the solution has to be forced on all children. Or their parents, more like.
Remember when video games were making kids kill each other? Because when I was a kid, that’s what people were trying to ban instead of smartphones.
I think the difference here is in scope of the problem. Video games do make the extremely rare case of murderous psychopathy worse, but it affects very few children. Smartphones affect almost everyone and the problems they are causing can be seen in quality of learning data.
That sounds like an American problem. We in many countries in Europe don’t have that problem, but our kids still waste their time on smartphones.
Perhaps we can imagine a society where nobody had thought of banning handguns for children. But you can just not buy your own kid a handgun if it’s so important to you.
Children in countryside are behaving pretty much exactly the same when it comes to whining about smartphones.
Like… join a protest demanding a smartphone-free childhood for everybody?
Yea, which wouldn’t be a smartphone then probably.
This is a magnificent idea, and will make the quality of children’s lives absolutely better.
They should just checkout the code from 2005 and copy paste it in.
