Its a lot harder and can do significantly less damage if it doesnt have root privileges, its like how putting a lock on the door to your house wont stop thieves but its better then not having one.

Thats why on Linux you need to run the sudo command and type the root password (or user password) to install something. I get this isn’t Linux but its a serious security vulnerability that someone could run a super user level command by clicking yes on a confirmation box that pops up so often that nobody thinks twice.
They would rather make it harder for people to access their content rather than making it easier to be a paying customer
I’m glad people are starting to care about digital privacy even after three decades of people like me being annoying
I’m glad I don’t use Winbloat

My point was that making life harder for non paying customers doesn’t negate the fact that they make life harder for paying customers.
As they continue to make life harder for paying customers more people will stop paying
That’s my point, people may complain but nothing else competes.
That’s my point exactly, Linux doesn’t come without sacrifice and few are willing to sacrifice anything for freedom
Let’s be honest, very few people who talk about how much they hate Microsoft will even consider alternatives
*cops pissed they have to follow due process
I meant Microsoft’s Xbox input method, absolutely nothing against x.org
Having developers pay a one time fee for dedicated servers that the players don’t need to pay for is amazing.
I wish, the first one still stands as the best controller imo but it still has so much that can be improved (USB C, dual thumbsticks and trackpads, two back paddles, improved haptics, better gyro, better ergonomics, etc).
I just hate the very concept of Linux being monetized. I don’t think it’ll happen and I don’t want it to happen.
It should be default, its a good security practice and not every app needs super user permissions.
