Yeah, I think in my head I mixed up this article with a unrelated one.
Here is the article were they adjusted the privacy policy to allow AI training. Personally I think this is enough evidence to think they train their AI on messages.
They sell your dms for money, which makes them money. They don’t make money through spying on your calls. I’ll let you figure this one out.
Edit: no evidence
Invidious shares your IP with google, it does not act as a proxy
What are some good larger/general purpose peer tube instances? Last time I checked tilvids was one of the largest I found, so I seem to have missed a lot.
Phi 3 can run on pretty low specs (requires 4gb RAM) and has relatively good output
It’s called OpenAI because they are open to stealing content to train their AI
I thought docker was FOSS? What exactly are they charging you for?
I don’t check the source code of something big browsers, that’s a little beyond my understanding, but that’s why there are experts for that.
The webrequest api (or rather the main parts) have already been phased out of chromium, so it’s just a matter of time until Vivaldi rebases to the newest version and gets rid of the api. (I think they said they want to delay the depreciation but acknowledged that it is inevitably coming, probably sooner than later)
Why would your trust in Mozilla have anything to do with using this browser? Do you trust google more than Mozilla or why would you use a chromium based browser instead?
Vivaldi is only partially open source https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-browser-open-source/
I recommend trying zen (not stable yet) when it releases, it’s has a lot of Vivaldis features, but is based on Firefox and open source
I love Firefox because with about:config and User css you can configure it just like you want it. Also Falkon because you get a fully featured browser that runs decently on older hardware
I have never seen one with SS, but maybe they removed that part in Germany.
They can put it on another App Store in the EU, but only if it’s approved by apple and they pay apple 50 cents per download
Meaning that they’re forks of Chromium on desktop in the same way Floorp is a fork of Firefox on desktop? Not sure what exactly you mean, but I meant they are forks of Firefox on iOS like floorp is from Firefox on desktop
Ecosia for sure and Qwant and Brave AFAIK too are forks of Firefox. They all use WebKit as an engine but the rest of the browser is derived from Firefox. Falkon vs Edge was a bad example (wrong), these browsers are more like Floorp. I wasn’t saying that this is generally true for IOS browsers, just that a pretty large part of FOSS ones are
That is an interesting way of saying Apple is finally supporting an industry standard. By the way what is it with people pretending iMessage is the only messenger? There are many great cross platform options like signal and also some not so good options like WhatsApp. May just be Europe, but the last time I used SMS was in 2021. And I always have used iPhones.
