Our 200 developers all switched from docker desktop to rancher after Docker tried to jack up the price about a year and a half ago, along with a bunch of legal threats. Their attitude was so piss poor, we went from debating paying the higher fees to just fucking them off entirely.
I will pay $4 per user to NOT use Docker.
I used this within smart tube for a while, but honestly I kind of missed some of the clockbait titles. There problem I faced was that it wasn’t clear when a title had been replaced or not, so when you did find a video with a relatively clockbait titles, it gave you a bit of a false sense of security. I also found that sometimes the crowd sourced titles were just boring, albeit accurate.
Maybe I’m just weird or maybe I’ve just been browsing YouTube for so long that I’m used to it, but for now it’s an addon I’ll skip, though I’m very glad it exists.
Pirates didn’t sail the seven seas heading out gold to others.
Same, they’re an absolute game changer for me. I have to use multiple different identities in work due to separate active directories and container tabs makes it super easy
I honestly wouldn’t mind the new interface if it at least has all the options and functionality from the control panel, but it doesn’t - there’s so much functionality you can only access via control panel
Unrelated but how would you rate sous vide cooking? I am tempted for a bunch of reasons but I’m worried it’ll be just another kitchen appliance that I rarely use.
This actually is an improvement. Not everyone wants to be on camera and for those folks, getting pushed off to the sidebar often means they’re overlooked.
This at least means they’re given the same importance as anyone else.
No idea what the rant about presentations is about, when anyone presents it becomes the main content and everyone - camera or not - gets pushed to the sidebar. You can also pop out presentation content to give it it’s own dedicated window.
I hate teams as a communication platform, but the presentation and meeting views are actually pretty well done compared to the competition.
Not quite but tech for sure
This makes me laugh because I work for a UK company that was bought out by an American company, who’s trying to treat the UK staff how they would treat US staff - and it’s not going well.
Our American colleagues cannot fathom how much time we take off for holidays, especially around Christmas. They also got a shock when doing some recent “restructuring” they couldn’t just fire a bunch of UK folks.
That’s fucking hilarious
I’d be surprised if it’s directly linked
I didn’t say it was good, but it is easy to use compared to a terminal. It won’t help you find your file, but it’s somewhat intuitive to a novice user - you click around and open folders until you find something that looks like what you’re after. It’s not efficient, it’s downright tedious, but it’s at least easy to do.
It’s all about the barrier to entry to novice users. Most users are novices, they’re the majority of the market so they’ll decide what the market leader is.
No, neither is easy to use. The second you have to use a terminal or command line you have completely lost the vast majority of people.
I don’t think any of the UX problems you’re describing have been solved on any platform. If anything Windows is one of the better examples here, because I’ll be fucked if I can ever find a file on Android and don’t get me started with Linux.
Prepare to get inundated with ads for anime girls and other weeb shit.
EDIT: To clarify, I mean “weeb” as a term of endearment rather than the pejorative.
Msn was the best, I’ll never forgive Microsoft for killing it in favour of Skype.
The problem that I see is that all of these alternatives still rely on YouTube at the end of the day.
And the cost of setting up a new video hosting site that’s free to consume content from is ridiculous.
There’s definitely still plenty of utility here. Most technical people agree that they’re generally just very good at googling things but what if you don’t know what to search for? An AI can take your poorly worded question, make some kind of sense of it and spit something out.
Whereas anyone who knows how and what to Google will probably find the right answer faster. So it at least levels the playing field a bit.
Maybe.
I’m devastated that they’re not working on a sequel at all, it was such a fun and refreshing game.
